Adrienne's Gardens in St Louis Park
Adrienne got hooked on native plants and continues to add to their gardens. Together with her husband, Patrick, and their two children, the family gardens now include visits by fox, rabbits and toads. Their Bird Weather monitor has detected 157 birds, with 30 species they see frequently. Adrienne said they have been mounding leaves under the larger shrubs instead of mulching and to their delight, fireflies were spotted last July - a huge highlight!
We look forward to seeing what's in bloom on June 21, and thank Adrienne for inviting us to visit their habitat gardens.

Leslie's garden in Mendota Heights
Leslie's goal has been to create biodiversity in their yard, she doesn't garden. Per Leslie, "To me, gardening is to create pretty for me. Naturescaping creates pretty for both me and wildlife. Everything in this yard (except two trees and two shrubs) was planted by me. My guess is that about 75 percent of the vegetation in this ½ acre is native."
