Please join us for our chapter's annual membership meeting!

This year we will be recognizing our amazing volunteers—everyone who helped greet meeting attendees, brought refreshments, answered questions at our "Ask an Expert" table or an outreach event, hosted a summer tour, volunteered at the Design With Nature Conference or our annual native plant sale, served on our board or recruitment committee, or any number of ways in which our members made 2019 a banner year for Wild Ones Twin Cities!

2019 has also been a year of change, as we have been working all year to build a new leadership and volunteer framework that positions us for sustainable growth and better facilitates member participation into 2020, our 20th year as a Wild Ones chapter. Our November newsletter will have more information about this ongoing work.

As we celebrate our volunteers at the November Membership Meeting, we will also be discussing these changes and asking for member input. This is YOUR chapter, and we want to hear from you...

  • What kinds of program topics or speakers would you like to see at monthly meetings?
  • Where would you like to visit as part of a native plant landscape summer tour?
  • Would you like to host a tour of your native plant garden?
  • Do you have an interest in volunteering on a committee or a special project?
  • How about a leadership role, helping to shape our chapter's future?
  • Which native plants would you like to see available in our spring sale?
  • Would you like to learn more about gardening with native plants?
  • What kind of resources, materials or publications would you like to see our chapter provide?
  • Which media do you prefer for educational materialsprinted, online, audio, video?
  • Would you like to be part of a mentorship program, teaching or learning about habitat gardening with other members in your community?
  • Do you know about any other opportunities, events or organizations where you would like to help further our Wild Ones mission?

This year, instead of a potluck dinner, we decided to have a pizza party as part of our membership appreciation meeting. We will be ordering from Pizza Luce in Richfield! Please email Holley Wlodarczyk if you would like gluten-free or vegan options available.

Don't forget to bring any native plant seeds you would like to share!  Please label with both the botanical name and common name (example: Asclepias tuberosa, Butterfly-weed) for each species, as well as seed source. Envelopes will be available for sharing.

Thank you—and we hope to see you on November 19th!
