MINNEAPOLIS MONARCH FESTIVAL
Saturday, September 8th, 10am - 4pm
The Nokomis Naturescape will share the Monarch Festival HABITAT TENT with Wild Ones Twin Cities and Twin Cities Audubon.
We will work closely with the Monarch Lab tent and the native plant vendors.
There will be game activities to initiate more interest in coming to the habitat tent.
Audubon is leading 2 habitat gardening tours.
We will have tools and assignments to assist volunteers in fielding festival goer general questions,
to encourage native plant gardening and volunteering at NN.
MONARCH LAB TENT
Naturescape gardeners and Wild Ones members are encouraged to work with the Monarch Lab tent to escort festival attendees
into the garden(we've created specific spots) and release monarchs. At the Monarch lab tent, they will learn about monarch biology.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquaint people with native plants and their unique benefits.
Carol Kuechler, a Naturescape volunteer has offered to be the garden monarch release team leader.
We'll have a short general script that pertains to habitat gardening and a release plan.
